We asked 30 LWW students about their favorite gym exercises and recorded the results. Most students seem to use the bench press as their main form of exercise at the gym followed by squats. Only a few students prefer bicep burls, triceps pushdowns, and pullups/ pushdowns. Other students choose RDLs, running on the treadmill, the Stairmaster, and the leg press. (See the results below.) As for gym memberships, 83% of students said they belonged to one. However, Planet Fitness was the most popular choice with two students going to LA Fitness and others to the Lincoln-Way fitness center or a home/ garage gym. Planet Fitness does offer free summer memberships for students. As for why students like going to the gym, responses ranged from the amount of equipment available, working out with friends, making them feel calm and happy, learning about health and fitness, and getting stronger.
