Read for a Lifetime 2024!
Read for a Lifetime is a statewide reading program offered at West. Each year a new list of 25 different books is released. The books range from classics to contemporary literature exploring an array of topics. The diverse list of books encourages students to step out of their usual genres and explore titles they may never have picked up. Any student who reads four or more books is recognized with a certificate of achievement signed by the Secretary of State and State Librarian Alexi Giannoulias.
This year 62 West students read four or more books, eight seniors read four or more books all four years, and two seniors read all twenty-five books all four years. Six West teachers also participated this year. The seniors will all be recognized at the School Board meeting on May 16th.
If you are interested in joining this program, be on the lookout for information regarding the 2024/2025 school year list. This is a great program to help grow your high school activity list. You can also check out books from the lists in the West library or your local library!
