International Club is a way to get to know other students from various backgrounds. They host many special events and take trips to unique places. Recently, they went to the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago. They had a great experience with an international potluck after school in the Warriors Lodge with Better Together and MSA. They also went to the German Christmas market in Aurora and ran the concessions stand for a boys basketball game as a fundraiser. They will be eating Kings cake and decorating masks on Mardi Gras in February and then planning for future events at the next meeting.
They do a variety of activities so that if you don’t like what they have planned for this month, then you can join them for the next month’s activity. They like to mix things up and offer events that provide exposure to numerous cultures. Students can learn more about their own culture and appreciate others’ cultural traditions as well. It is educational, respectful, and fun! Find Señora Ryan in Room B104 for more information. If you would like to join, come to a meeting or an event. Everyone is welcome!
