This season of Lincoln-Way West football has been an amazing turnaround from last year with the Warriors posting a record of 7-2 and earning a 7A SWSC Red Conference Championship. The Warriors went on to win the playoff game on Friday, October 27 against Hoffman Estates. This season for the Warriors is one of triumph and overcoming obstacles as they saw their starting quarterback go out with injury in a game against Belleville East. However, the Warriors persevered and hosted a home playoff game under their emerging core of veteran senior leadership, as well as their abundance of youthful talent in the class of 2025 and 2026. Their quarterback, Chase Hetfleisch, was thrust into a scenario of unknowns after the injury to the veteran player, but he kept fighting and was able to lead the offense to several key wins. Another key to the Warriors success on the offense this year, was the emergence of the rushing attack led by Senior Joey Campagna. He posted three touchdowns in the matchup against Andrew and looks to continue his dominance in the playoffs. Finally, the defense of the Warriors is prolific as they finished the game vs. Andrew with an interception to seal the victory. They are led by a talented group of seniors both in the secondary and on the defensive line. They continued their work in the games vs. Hoffman Estates and Collinsville with two strong wins.
Everyone, remember to show up this weekend and get ready to cheer on the Warriors at home against Downers Grove! After their impressive wins over Hoffman Estates and Collinsville, the boys look to continue their impressive stretch as they play at home for the next round this Saturday. Good Luck, Warriors!
