On September 6, the Warriors went against Evanston in a thrilling football game! Students filled the stands in white to support our football team in our first home game of the year. The game drew to a nerve-racking tie moments before half-time.

Stepping onto the field for half-time was a performance by our spirted cheerleaders, followed by our amazing state-bound varsity poms team. Both gave excellent performances and pumped up our lively student section. The LWMB wrapped up half-time by performing their show, Scene Unseen.

This year’s marching theme is about the concept of being seen (or unseen) within the three movements. During the performance, specific sections of the band were highlighted by the reveal of vibrant costumes, making them seen to the audience before reverting to their homogeneous guise of a bright green, which blended in with the football field.

Mystery took form in movement one. Many sections of the band revealed themselves as magenta before mysteriously becoming unseen. The second movement introduced our charming sabre soloists with a reveal of bright magenta. Now seen, the guard entered the field with graceful movement. The show came to an end with a melodious solo performed by the saxophones, clarinets, and flutes. The band was given a standing ovation as they exited the stadium.

West dominated the Wildkits 38-24. Overall, this was not only an amazing night for the Warrior football team, but also the LWMB as their performance gained exposure and support from the public.
