Dubai chocolate was created in 2021, but only gained its popularity in 2024 because of a TikTok video. Dubai chocolate is chocolate with a filling of pistachio and kadayif. It is expensive for most chocolate bars because of its high-quality ingredients. It is popular because of its unique flavor profile and interesting texture. Due to its popularity, many companies have made Dubai chocolate flavored items. Crumbl Cookies, Baskin-Robbins, and Crave Cookies have all made variations of Dubai chocolate treats. Many chocolate companies also recreate it since it is in exceedingly high demand. 

We asked Lincoln-Way West students if they have ever tried Dubai chocolate or if they like Dubai chocolate.  Almost half of the students asked have tried it and 15% wanted to try it.  However, only 41% of those who have tasted it actually like the flavor.  Most students have purchased the chocolate from local stories, but one student had homemade Dubai chocolate and another tasted some her uncle brought back from a trip to Dubai.   

If you have not had Dubai chocolate, maybe try it the next time Crumbl is selling them in the cafeteria, or buy a bar from a grocery store.  It’s a flavor you must experience at least once.
