Beat the Summer Boredom
Summer break is the perfect time to unwind, recharge, and create lasting memories with your friends. Ditch the endless scrolling and step away from the screens! Here are some great ideas that will keep you and your friends entertained all season long…
Embrace the Outdoors
Summer is full of sunshine and fresh air. Why not make the most of it? Organize a hiking trip to a local trail and explore the natural beauty around you. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a great meal with an amazing view. If that doesn’t sound exciting, gather your friends for a day at the beach or lake. Swimming, sunbathing, and beach volleyball are classic summer pastimes that never get old. For the more adventurous, try kayaking, paddle boarding, or even a beginner’s surfing lesson. Who knows, it could turn into your new favorite hobby!
Get Creative and Social
Unleash your inner artist by hosting a tie-dye party. All you need are some plain white t-shirts, fabric dyes, and a creative spirit. Let everyone personalize their own unique designs and rock them throughout the summer. If you’re more of a music person, form a garage band and play your favorite songs. You could even write your own original songs and perform them for friends and family. If you want something more relaxing, organize a backyard movie night. Set up a projector, hang a white sheet, and snuggle up with blankets and popcorn under the stars. Don’t forget the bug spray!
Overcome Fears
Although Six Flags in Gurnee, Illinois opened on April 18 for the 2025 season, the ideal time to go is after May when the park will be open consistently through June and July. Going to Six Flags with friends is a blast because you get to share the adrenaline rush on the rides, laugh at each other’s terrified faces, and create awesome memories together! Plus, navigating the park is way more fun with other people you love spending time with. Together, it’s also easier to overcome the fear of roller coasters so that you can all spend more time on rides that fill you up with excitement!
2 (or more) brains are better than one: One last suggestion for summer plans is to go to an escape room, as they’re awesome for ending boredom because of how engaging they are. Escape rooms require teamwork and give you a real sense of accomplishment when you solve the puzzles together!
In the end, whatever the activities you do over the summer with your friends turns out to be, the important thing is everyone has fun and that the experiences are something worth remembering! Thanks.
