The Lincoln-Way West Spring Musical this year is the Rodgers and Hammersteins’s version of Cinderella, which might not be the story that you’re familiar with. The premise is similar to the Disney version, with a few twists. It’s the tale of a kind, young woman named Ella (Cinderella, played by Ava Sandrzyk) who is mistreated by her stepsisters (Kayleigh Buda and Madison Munch) and stepmother (Jacqueline Ramos). She meets a prince, and they fall in love. Sophomore Dylan Hurley, who will be portraying the prince, shared that “Being part of the school musical, Cinderella, has been such a fun experience. It’s amazing how everyone comes together, from the cast to crew, to bring the show to life. Rehearsals are full of laughter and unforgettable memories.”
Another sophomore with a leading role is Sophia Gerges, who will play the part of the fairy godmother, Marie. In Sophia’s words, “I’m honored to be a part of such a wonderful musical with an even more extraordinary cast. Get hyped!! It’s gonna be a fantabulous show. And though I’m not supposed to say this because of (the Disney) copyright, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!!”
The cast, crew, pit orchestra, and directors have been tirelessly getting ready for the show, which will be on April 11th at 7:00 p.m., April 12th at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and April 13th at 3:00 p.m.
