2025 has just started, and since it feels like 2024 just flew by, here are a few things to look forward so you can make the most out of this year. 

New movie releases 

Movies are always fun to watch, especially in theaters. Here are some that you can look forward to seeing on the big screen. 

The Minecraft Movie-Minecraft is a sandbox adventure game released in 2009, and despite being released over 10 years ago, it still has a massive following. The movie will star Jack Black as the main character, Steve.  Other actors, such as Jason Momoa, are trapped in the video game trying to escape. The movie’s set release date is on April 4. 

Superman (2025) – Superman is a superhero known for fighting evil in Metropolis and is a part of DC Comics. The last Superman movie, Age of Steel, was released all the way back in 2013, so seeing another action-packed superhero movie, along with a new Superman actor, will surely be exciting. This film will be released on July 11, 2025. 

TV shows 

Here are some new seasons of the TV series that you love that are set to release later this year: 

Squid Games Season 3- With the second season of Squid Games having just been released, everyone is already excited for the third season. This season will be the finale of the exciting show that quickly became a cultural phenomenon around the world. 

The Last of Us Season 2- This zombie-apocalypse TV show version of the popular video game is to be released sometime in spring but has no set release date. This show will be able to be watched on HBO Max. 

Video games 

If you are an avid video game fan, then here are a few games that you can look forward to playing. 

Nintendo Switch 2- This all-new video game console from Nintendo will include new features such as Joy-Cons that may be able to be used as a mouse (unconfirmed), two USB-C ports, magnetic Joy-Cons, and a larger screen. The official release date is not yet confirmed but is likely to be released sometime this summer.
