Forty-five students were surveyed about how they were spending Valentine’s Day this year. Sixteen teens will be spending the day with a boyfriend or girlfriend, nine will spend time with friends, and nine find it just another day. Only two students will be working on this day.
Most are giving candy as a gift with flowers tied with other unique gifts as the second choice. Four teenagers surveyed are giving stuffed animals/ plushies, while only one student is giving or receiving jewelry.
Over half the students who responded are staying home on Valentine’s Day and ten are going to dinner. The others will be going to a variety of fun places.
About half of West students love Valentine’s Day. Some said, “It’s the best holiday ever,” or “It shows love for everyone.” But others dislike this day because it is just a regular day or makes them feel bad because they are single. So, enjoy the day doing what you love, whether it is on your own or with friends or loved ones.
