As the holiday season approaches, kitchens around the world fill with the delightful aroma of freshly baked cookies. These sweet treats are a loved tradition in many households bringing family and loved ones together to create and share festive traditions. Some Christmas cookies you can make this season are classic sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies, peppermint bark, or snickerdoodles!
Thirty-one students answered a survey about their favorites. The number one choice was sugar cookies with 10 votes followed by Hershey’s Kiss cookies with nine votes. Gingerbread and snickerdoodles were tied for third place followed by spritz cookies in last place. Even though they are not traditional holiday cookies, chocolate chip received the most write-in votes. Other favorites included kolaczki, oatmeal, butter, conchas, peanut butter, candy cane, and frosted (from the store). One student said the best cookies are made by their grandma. Another said the best cookies are the ones their family makes together. Out of all the students surveyed, 74% will be baking cookies this holiday season. So find a recipe online.
