How long have you worked at West?  How long in the district?

I taught at Central for 13 years. I have worked at West for 7 years now. This is my 20th year at Lincoln-Way!

What is your favorite memory of working at West?

My favorite memory from working at West was Homecoming Olympics this year! I really enjoyed the games, my team was a group of amazing students, and the firework show at the end of the night was a great surprise!

Why do you like working at West?

I like working at West because of the people. The entire staff at West is the best. Administration, cafeteria workers, maintenance staff, deans, secretaries, and all my fellow teachers make coming to work an enjoyable experience. However, the students are my favorite. I tell everyone I meet that I love the students at West and they make my job so much fun!

What is something that students would be surprised to find out about you?

My students would be surprised to see my music playlists. My favorite type of music is rap and hip hop.

Do you have any embarrassing teaching moments you are willing to share?

My absolute most embarrassing teaching moment was during my 3rd year of teaching at Central. I was sitting at the computer with one of my legs tucked under the other. Somehow my foot got caught in my key lanyard that was in my pocket. When I went to stand up, my foot was stuck and I tripped over my own leg and fell flat on my face. The students laughed for the next 30 minutes. I can still feel the embarrassment.

Why is West the best?

West is the best because of the school spirit. I have been to many different high schools throughout my career, and I have never seen the level of school spirit our staff and students have for the Warriors. On Friday, it is so amazing to look out to the hallways and see everyone wearing Orange and Black.

What is your favorite dish from the cafeteria?

My favorite dish from the cafeteria is the walking tacos.
