At West, we believe that we are the best at school spirit, so Fox 32 Chicago decided to do a feature of our school for their Orange Friday segment. Since every Friday is an Orange Friday at West, multiple groups were chosen to sit in the stands and chant the fight song while the cheer and dance teams performed, and the band played.  There were interviews with state golf title winner Kaylee Dwyer, dual sport athlete Jacob Bereza, principal Dr. Robbins, and more West students.   Fox chose our school due to our spirit and our love for orange. Fox 32 Chicago does the segment in correlation with the Chicago Bears to show how everyone displays their orange spirit. These segments are a great way to show communities of vastly different people all having one thing in common…team spirit.  They have segments focusing on high schools and other guests to show support for the Bears and the community.  We wear orange by choice to show our pride in our school. When I wear orange, I feel a sense of connection to my school.
