They’ll Never Catch Us by Jessica Goodman is a thrilling story with many plot twists. The book is about two sisters, Stella and Ellie, competing with each other for the top spot on their high school’s cross-country team. A wrench is thrown in their plan when star cross country runner, Mila Keene, transfers and threatens their one chance to get out of their hometown and attend college. The plot begins to develop when Mila disappears one day during her morning run. All eyes are on the Steckler sisters as they become labeled suspects due to aggressive behavior they displayed in the past. This book really makes you question the characters’ integrity as well as the integrity of your own friends.  We get closer and closer to the climax when Mila’s school ID is found in Stella’s locker. The sisters begin an investigation of their own as they try to prove their innocence. After finding Mila’s phone and a shoelace on a trail, the sisters discover who the killer is and their twisted motive. 

Overall, I very much enjoyed this book because of the surprising plot twists. The twists kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time reading this! The author also did a great job of including the readers in the story as if they were characters in the book themselves.
