An Open Letter to the Freshmen

Dear Class of 2025,

With first semester behind us, I have some advice to share.

First, do what you love. Take what classes that inspire you. Lead with desire. Do what’s best for you. Build the future you want. No one can ever tell you any different.

Secondly, focus on finding yourself. Go to that party, but study hard. Discover what you want to do. Live life for you. You have a dream to chase, not people to impress. Find what you love and chase it down relentlessly.

Next, believe, believe, believe. Believing is power. Even if you don’t believe, play the game. Act as if you believe. If you believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything. Even if it means standing alone, stand up for what you believe in.

Finally, as always, surround yourself with a group of friends. Your friends should be accepting of you and advocating for you. True friends will always stand with you, even during your darkest hours.

Remember, high school is a journey of self-discovery. Never stop trying new things.

Best of luck,
Tristan Minarik
