Ways to Stay in Touch and Show Gratitude During the Quarantine

  1. Making Signs to Communicate to Others
Some people have been putting encouraging signs in front of their homes to send a nice message to others passing by. Seeing these signs can put a smile on someone’s face and is worth doing.
  2.  Create a Parade to Celebrate Birthdays
Some neighborhoods have been organizing small parades with the people in their communities to celebrate residents’ birthdays, young and old. It’s a nice way to show people you care about them and want to celebrate them even from afar.
  3. Talk on the Phone
Staying in contact with your friends is important, and it can be nice to hear from them via phone and not just through text. Make sure not only to keep in contact with friends but reach out to family as well. Grandparents especially appreciate even a quick phone call just to say “hello.”
  4.  Reach Out to Neighbors
It’s important to check on your neighbors and see if they need anything. Especially with older neighbors, it can be worrisome even to go to the grocery store. So next time you are going to go out for essentials, reach out and see if they need anything. Make sure to maintain social distance, of course.
  5. Do Your Part
Doctors and medical personnel are on the front lines to take care of people, putting their own lives on the line. It’s important to show our gratitude and appreciation for their work. Just by staying at home and not engaging in social contact makes all the difference. It is also nice to reach out (figuratively) and send letters of appreciation. Not just to medical workers, but to your postal workers, garbage truck drivers, janitors, truck drivers, grocery store workers, and so many others who are keeping the world moving.
