On Wednesday, October 23, the Blackhawks were playing the San Jose Sharks, when Captain Jonathan Toews was injured. Toews left the game with 11:17 remaining in the second period after falling awkwardly to the boards. He has been out since and has been put on injured reserve with a back injury. There isn’t a timeline for his return. Toews said, “If this was the playoffs, I’d be playing.” The coach of the Blackhawks, Joel Quinville, doesn’t want to rush things because he doesn’t want Toews to get hurt even more. The Blackhawks play has suffered in Toews’ absence. Hopefully, once he gets back, we will be on track to that “One Goal.”
